(TAP)- Thirty-nine project financing agreements in southern Tunisia were signed, as part of the programme to support the creation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) established by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), in partnership with the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment.

Ahmed Saggay, regional coordinator of the microenterprise project in Médenine and Tataouine, indicated that the aim is to create 19 and 20 companies respectively, with a total value of 1 million dinars

These companies, with a capacity of 125 jobs, are active in services, industry, tourism and handicrafts.

At the end of 2018, a first batch of thirty-seven projects began operating in the two governorates.

Entrepreneurial support is provided to the creators of these projects, as part of the SME project funded by the Italian Agency for Cooperation (2016-2019).

This project aims to strengthen the skills of support structures in the social and solidarity economy and to support young entrepreneurs.
