(TAP)- Mayor of Sidi Bouzid, Abdelkader Néji, had a working session on Tuesday at City Hall with UK Ambassador to Tunisia, Louise De Sousa.

"The meeting aims to promote cooperation and support municipal projects in Sidi Bouzid," said the mayor in a statement to TAP.

The working session provided an opportunity to discuss the problems facing the town hall in carrying out environmental, agricultural and infrastructure projects, as well as the granting of scholarships to students in the region.

The UK Ambassador expressed to TAP her country's readiness to continue its support for the democratic transition process in Tunisia.

She announced the one-year scholarship programme for the best English-speaking students from Sidi Bouzid to improve their language skills.

De Sousa welcomed the opening of the town hall to various civil parties, promising to carry out projects dedicated to young people in the region.
