Gabès: Bodies of nine Africans buried in Bouchema cemetery

(TAP) - The bodies of eight Africans, victims of illegal migration off the coast of Medenine, were buried Friday afternoon in the Bouchema cemetery, after the agreement of the city's city council, TAP correspondent reports.

The forensic department of the Gabes Regional Hospital had received 86 bodies of Africans who had drowned in the sea during an attempt to cross the maritime border illegally after returning them from Zarzis.

The bodies of 74 African victims were brought back to Zarzis where they were buried in the cemetery of foreigners.

The forensic service of the Gabès regional hospital will check the genetic composition of the remaining three bodies before deciding where they will be buried.
