(TAP)- The Regional Authority for the Election (IRIE) of Nabeul 1 conducted Sunday at its headquarters a mock operation to accept candidates for the 2019 legislative elections which should start on Monday and continue until July 29.

IRIE President Laroussi Ben Abdallah said in a statement to TAP that this mock operation is an opportunity for candidates for legislative elections in the context of party, coalition or independent lists to learn about the different steps involved in submitting candidates. The operation begins with the registration of the candidate to whom an electronic application receipt must be given.

According to the President of IRIE, this mock operation will also be an opportunity to provide candidates for the next legislative elections with documents, including the candidate's guide, which contains data on the conditions for applying and the procedures to be followed throughout the operation.

He asked the candidates in these elections to submit their candidatures as soon as possible to correct any possible errors, complete their files in case of missing documents and avoid the massive influx of recent days.

On the failure of the President of the Republic to promulgate the electoral law, Laroussi Ben Abdallah indicated that the law in force until today is Law No. 2014-16 of May 26, 2014 on elections and referendums, which was amended and supplemented by Organic Law No. 2017-7 of 14 February 2017.
