Agreement on empowerment of local community signed in Jendouba

(TAP) - A partnership agreement was signed, Thursday, between the governorate of Jendouba and the USAID (United States Agency for International Development).

The agreement relates to the Ma3n programme known as (Tunisia Resilience and Community Empowerment). It will be achieved over 5 years in 15 governorates with a budget of 147 million dinars (49.6 million dollars).

The programme seeks to empower local communities to help them meet political and socio-economic challenges.

Adviser to the Prime Minister in charge of Youth Chokri Terzi said 60 youth from Fernana and Ghardimaou (governorate of Jendouba) will benefit of this programme. The goal is to help them become effective actors in public life.

Governor of Jendouba Ali Marmouri stressed the need to listen to youth and encourage them participate in designing programmes.

Director of USAID office in Kef Emna Gaies said M3an project seeks to involve the public and private sectors in empowering the community locallly and regionally.
