Hammamet: "Tech for Good: social impact of innovative technologies" conference starts

(TAP)- The 8th conference "Tech for Good: Social impact of innovative technologies", organised by the British Council, started on Friday in Hammamet.

This two-day event will be attended by some 50 representatives from Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Morocco and the United Kingdom, who will discuss the use of digital technology and its role in innovation.

Noomane Fehri, former Minister of Information Technology, said that Tunisia has taken important steps in the technological field, stressing the importance of strengthening the use of new technologies for the national economy.

Jaloul Ayed, former Minister of Finance, noted that Tunisia will have to take greater advantage of new technologies given the contribution of the digital economy to meeting the challenges of the Tunisian economy.

Robert Ness, Director of the British Council, stressed the importance of this conference, which brings together representatives from North African countries and the United Kingdom to discuss the social impact of innovative technologies and how they can be used to benefit our societies in the era of the 4th industrial revolution.
