(TAP) – Eight sub-Saharan Africans with no ID documents were arrested on Sunday by military units deployed in the Choucha buffer zone as they were attempting to illegally cross the Tunisian-Libyan borders in both directions.

The migrants were handed over to the National Guards of Borders, according to a National Defence Ministry on Monday.

Besides, the military units in Remada intercepted on Sunday two cars moving between the sand barrier and the buffer zone in the Lazret region.

Warning shots were fired by the military units to oblige the cars to stop.

Quantities of cigarettes were seized after searching the cars, however the passengers escaped towards Libya.
