23/05/2020 14:33, TUNIS/Tunisia

(TAP) - About 300 Tunisians stranded in Libya arrived on Friday at the Ras Jedir terminal (Medenine governorate).

All the returnees were subjected to meticulous police and health procedures, given the particular health (COVID-19 pandemic) and security (armed conflict in Libya) situation.

The members of the group were taken by bus to mandatory health isolation centres; 249 of them were sent to the island of Djerba and the others to the Youth Centre in Medenine. They will be tested for COVID-19 after one week.

As a result, the total number of people subject to mandatory lockdown in the Médenine region is 737, Deputy Regional Director of Basic Health, Zaid Al Anz told TAP.
