(TAP)-The medical team monitoring the development of Covid-19 in Monastir allowed the departure of 195 residents in mandatory health isolation centres after spending a period of seven days there.

Director of Preventive Health at the Regional Health Directorate in Mahdia Samir Lahoul stated Monday to TAP that three persons will be detained in a health isolation centre, despite having tested negative to Covid-19.

The decision was made after the discovery of a new contamination having come into contact with them. The patient was taken to a Covid centre in the Monastir region, the same source added.

In another connection, the health director said that 250 Tunisians had just been repatriated on a 2nd flight from Saudi Arabia, two of whom, according to swabs taken, were infected with the virus.

The couple were placed in a mandatory health isolation centre. The other passengers on the same flight were tested again after 48 hours.

A total of 436 people, including 180 returnees from Russia, 3 fishermen and 253 returnees from Saudi Arabia, are currently residing in the three health isolation centres in the region.

Since the appearance of the first case on March 2, Mahdia counts 19 contaminations with the virus, including two deaths and 16 recoveries.

The first results of another case have been negative, waiting for confirmation, he specified.
