Kasserine : 13 Syrian migrants arrested near Tunisian-Algerian borders

(TAP)- The National Guard in Feriana (Governorate of Kasserine), on Friday, arrested 13 Syrians, trying to illegally cross the Tunisian-Algerian borders through the town of Bouchebka.

 The thirteen Syrians were arrested aboard a van belonging to a local Tunisian citizen who assisted them to enter the Tunisian soil.

 Speaking to TAP, a local security source indicated that the arrested people were transferred to the mandatory quarantine centre near Haidra delegation as part of the preventive measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19.

In the governorate of Kasserine, the number of undocumented migrants (sub-Saharan and Syrian) recently arrested near the Tunisian-Algerian borders and placed in a local compulsory quarantine centres has reached 53. Ninteen of them tested positive for COVID-19.

They were all transferred to the Monastir centre to receive necessary medical treatment.
