COVID-19: Installation works of field hospital in Kasserine kick off

(TAP) - The installation works of a field hospital at the sports complex of Kasserine kicked off on Monday.

This initiative has been taken as a preventive measure to reduce the pressure on hospitals in the region in view of the surge in the number of coronavirus-infected people in the governorate of Kasserine.

The hospital will be equipped with 30 beds with oxygen and resuscitation equipment necessary for the care of Covid-19 patients.

The cost of this project has reached 300 thousand dinars financed by the regional council of the governorate, specified to TAP secretary general of the governorate Touhami Mahmoudi, estimating that the hospital will be operational by the beginning of November.

The governorate of Kasserine recorded, on Monday, four fatalities and 53 additional infection cases, bringing to 38 the number of deaths and 734 the number of infected people since the outbreak of the pandemic, according to the latest report published by the regional health directorate in Kasserine.

New infection cases were reported in Kasserine-Nord (20 cases), Ezzouhour (3 cases), Sbeïtla (3 cases), Sbiba (6 cases), Foussana (8 cases), Feriana (3 cases), Thala (6 cases) and Majel Bel Abbes (4 cases).

Besides, the regional education commission in Kasserine indicated, Sunday in a press release, that 6 infection cases have been recorded among students and teachers in Sbeïtla, Kasserine, Foussana and Thala.
