Coronavirus: three more fatalities and 57 additional cases of infection in Monastir

(TAP) - Three more people died from COVID-19 in the governorate of Monastir, bringing to 131 the number of deceased in the region since the spread of the pandemic, according to the latest report published by the local health department in Monastir.

The region has also seen 57 new infection cases, bringing to 5256 the overall number of people infected in the governorate since the outbreak, local health director in Monastir Hamouda Babba told TAP.

The new positive cases were discovered in Teboulba (12 cases), Monastir (9 cases), Ksar Hellal (8 cases), Bembla (6 cases), Ksibet El Madiouni (5 cases), Moknine (5 cases), Sayada-Lamta-Bou Hajar (5 cases), Zeramdine (5 cases) and Bekalta (2 cases).

According to the same source, 57 new people have recovered from the infection in the region where the total recovery cases has risen to 3802 since March 15.

Currently, 3145 people are continuing their self-isolation period, while 87 others are subject to mandatory quarantine, according to the same source.
