(TAP) - The local office of the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) in Gabes received 68 declarations of industrial projects in 2021, with a total investment value exceeding 161 million dinars and generating 790 jobs.

Regarding the industry-related service sector, 168 projects with a total investment of nearly 20 million dinars have been reported and will generate 478 jobs. However, only 15 projects among these investment intentions have entered into activity, with investments worth 47.5 million dinars, having created 59 jobs.

For its part, the local directirate of the Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Investment (APIA) had approved in the same year 209 projects with funds approaching 25 million dinars. They will generate 180 jobs.

The local agriculture commission in Gabes, on its part, approved 1269 investment operations, worth a total of 7.6 million dinars.

Regarding the tourism sector, three projects have been reported. They involve the creation of a hotel unit in Gabes, a guest house and a rural residence in Mareth.
