(TAP) - A delegation of Italian experts is currently visiting agricultural projects in different delegations of the governorate of Kebili to monitor the project CROLET.

Funded by the Italian Ministry of Interior and implemented by non-governmental organisation "WeWorld -GVC", the CROLET project aims to create job opportunities through the territorial economy in the governorates of Sidi Bouzid and Kebili.

This project aims to reduce illegal immigration, through socio-economic development initiatives and the promotion of activities related to the social and solidarity economy.

Representative of the organisation "WeWorld -GVC", Amel Abdeldaher told TAP Tuesday the visits of Italian experts are intended to examine the various problems of farmers in the region particularly in the sectors of date, tomato and cucumber cultivation, under the project CROLET which runs until the end of 2023.

The CROLET project also aims to create a local development agency bringing together the various stakeholders in the public and private sectors in addition to farmers.

The role of this agency is to propose solutions to the various difficulties faced by farmers, according to the same source.
