CCIS holds information workshop on German "Investments for Employment” facility

(TAP) - An information workshop on topics related to the German "Investments for Employment" (IFE) facility was organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sfax (CCIS), in association with the IFE.

A large number of economic players from the public and private sectors as well as representatives of investment support structures participated in this workshop.

The event aims to promote the German programme in Tunisia, which is proposed as an investment mechanism working to remove barriers to investment and support job creation in partner countries including Tunisia, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda and Senegal, according to the programme initiators.

Regional director of the IFE Philippe Santens said the business plan and feasibility of the project to submit is a key piece in the acceptance of applications, recalling that the grant varies from €1 to 10 million.

For his part, director of the programme in Tunisia Mounir Thraya said the call for proposals is open until June 30. It will concern consortia, public and private companies adding that the call remains open to various investment actors and aims primarily to help integration and employment.

The programme does not exclude, in fact, any sector and concerns non-profit projects with an impact on job creation or income generation as well as profit-making projects with an impact on job creation, said Thraya.

During this workshop, participants focused on technical aspects, eligibility requirements and activities concerned, application deadlines and possibilities of their extension, categories of projects subsidized by IFE, eligibility criteria of the grant applicant, conditions and criteria related to subsidized projects, the modalities of application and evaluation of projects...
