(TAP) – The National Guard officers in Moknine dismantled a terrorist cell composed of eight female students who made allegiance to Daech, TAP learned Tuesday from a security source.

The terrorist cell is made up of female students from Monastir, Kairouan and Sidi Bouzid. They were arrested and transferred to the Counter-Terrorism Judicial Centre in Tunis after admitting to have links with the terrorist organisation and having contacts with relatives in Syria. Documents pertaining to terrorism were seized and e-mails intercepted.

The investigation continues to identify other members of the group active in university homes seeking to recruit students for "jihad" in Syria, according to the security source.
