Tunisia-EU: "Essaha Aziza" health sector support programme discussed

(TAP) – A meeting held Tuesday between Interim Minister of Health Sonia Ben Sheikh and officer in charge of health at the European Union Delegation in Tunisia Laurent Le Danois discussed the possibility of continuing the Health Sector Support Programme in Tunisia "Essaha Aziza" (Precious Health) in 13 governorates, .

The programme aims to improve direct care services for citizens living in the inland regions and working-class districts.

This meeting also focused on energising Tunisian-European cooperation in the field of health and means of technical support for the sector.

The September 2017 - September 2023 "Essaha AZIZA" programme is financed by the European Union with a budget of 60 million dinars.

It promotes support for primary care services in local hospitals, clinics and basic health centres.

Among the regions targeted by this programme are El kef, Jendouba, Siliana, Sidi Bouzid, Kasserine, Kébili, Tataouine, Gabès, Tunis, Ariana (Etadhamen neighbourhood), Ben Arous and Manouba (Douar Hicher).
