(TAP) - The Ministry of Women, Family, Children and the Elderly organised, on Friday in the delegation of Balta-bouaouane (Jendouba governorate), in collaboration with the office of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Tunis a regional workshop on the implementation of the parental and family education programme.

Two regional workshops have already been held on June 19 and 20, 2019, respectively in Medenin and Tunis. Another workshop will be held in Haffouz (Kairouan Governorate) on June 24.

The parenting and family education programme is part of the implementation of a multidisciplinary strategy developed by the relevant ministries in partnership with civil society components and the private sector with technical support from the UNICEF office in Tunis.

This strategy aims to strengthen the capacity of parents to protect their children aged 0-6 years.

The governorates of Médenine, Jendouba, Kairouan and Tunis were chosen to implement a pilot experiment in parenting education covering all aspects of early childhood (health, nutrition, education and protection), taking into account the real needs of parents and families.
