Amal Centre for Education, Prevention and Treatment of Drug Addiction in Djebel El Oust, reopens

(TAP) - The Amal Centre for Education, Prevention and Treatment of Drug Addiction in Djebel El Oust (Zaghouan), closed for eight years, reopened on Tuesday, in the presence of Prime Minister Youssef Chahed.

The centre is operational again after the completion of restoration works with investments estimated at 350 thousand dinars.

Chahed stated to the press that the reopening of the centre is part of the national strategy to combat drug addiction, specifying that new centres will be opened in Sfax and other regions.

In addition, he paid tribute to the civil society which is endeavouring to support the State's efforts in this field and have contributed to the renovation and equipment of this centre.

Besides, the PM said that it must be recognised that there is a large number of drug addicts in Tunisia, who need to be cared for and treated.
