Undocumented Ivorian migrants accommodated in Sfax, Ben Arous and Médenine (LTDH)

(TAP)- The Tunisian League of Human Rights (French: LTDH) Tuesday said a number of undocumented Ivorian migrants who intended to head for Europe are presently accommodated in shelters in the governorates of Sfax, Ben Arous and Médenine.

President of Tunisia's Human Rights Observatory (French: OTDH) Mustapha Abdelkabir told TAP recently Tunisian authorities thwarted on August 3 an illegal crossing involving 36 Ivorian migrants.

A LTDH delegation paid a visit to a shelter in médenine to monitor the case of the Ivorians after coordination with the International Organisation for Migration (OIM), reads a press release.

Seven women and a child were accommodated in Médenine, 16 men were taken to another shelter in Ben Arous and the remaining crossers were housed in Sfax.
