(TAP) - The Tunisian General Union of Labour (UGTT) said it has issued a series of questions to be addressed to political parties and candidates for the upcoming legislative and presidential elections, aiming to identify their electoral programmes and assist voters in their choice.

The UGTT has invited candidates to answer 101 questions, in a document published Monday, to help voters choose on the basis of distinct and concrete programmes and clear visions, stressing that the answers to be provided by political parties will focus the debates and discussions on political parties' proposals and alternatives.

The questions are divided into 10 major themes, serving to identify the programmes and ideas of political parties “in excruciating details in the political, security, economic and social fields," UGTT indicated.

The aim is to prospect political parties on issues relating to the political system, the security and judicial system, freedoms, the country's financial balance, taxation, development and investment, as well as public institutions, administration, sectoral and social policies, youth and women, culture, the press, sport, regional development and quality of life.

The answers will be collected by UGTT to be analysed and integrated into an electronic platform, through which voters can inspect the programmes of the parties and candidates and identify their convergences and divergences.

The labour organisation said it seeks to bring the public and political opinion to present and discuss projects that can pull the country out of the crisis as well as to learn about electoral programmes of parties and candidates.
