(TAP) – The OXFAM’s office in Tunisia published a call for participation in its artistic activity “Slam Gender” aiming to counter gender-based violence, November 29-December 1 in Tunis.

Organised as part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” international campaign (November 25-December 10, the “Slam Gender” will include a two-day writing workshop, OXFAM Tunisia announced on its Facebook page.

This artistic activity will help youths aged between 15 and 30 to learn how to write texts dealing with gender equality and against male violence.

In this respect, the OXFAM Tunisia stressed that violence against women surpasses the physical aspect and includes verbal abuse and all everyday behaviours promoting inequality. Art is an important tool to counter this kind of violence, OXFAM Tunisia added.

The Slam is an oral and urban poetry recited in various spaces. It is an event, a court of expression where individuals recite their poetry as they desire on stage; each event defines the range of the authorised forms.
