(TAP) - The Prime Ministry announced that the first group of specialist doctors who passed the medical residency examination to work in priority regions (October 2017 session) will start practicing in inland areas from January 2021 to address the shortage of specialist doctors.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Prime Ministry added that this group is composed of 630 doctors in training since October 2017 in various specialties. These specialist doctors will be assigned exclusively to priority regions in order to find a radical solution to the problems that these regions have been facing for decades, the same source said.

The Prime Ministry described this programme as revolutionary and will change the health situation in the regions over the next few years.
