(TAP) – The Tunisian General Confederation of Labour (CGTT), on Saturday, called on President of the Republic Kais Saied to involve the Confederation in the negotiations to designate a new Prime Minister, whose name will be announced on Monday.

The CGTT stressed, in a statement, the need to respect the constitution which stipulates union pluralism.

The Administrative Court has recognised the confederation's right to participate in wage negotiations and to benefit from all advantages attributed to other labour organisations, the statement said.

CGTT Secretary General deplored the exclusion of the organisation from wage negotiations and the policy of marginalisation, calling to uphold union pluralism.

The CGTT brings together more than 90,000 members, spread over 600 private sector companies, he told TAP.

President Kais Saied, on Friday, held talks with the Secretary General of the Tunisian General Union of Labour (UGTT), the President of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and handicrafts (UTICA) and the President of the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP).
