(TAP)-The National COVID-19 Monitoring Authority recommended Wednesday, at the end of its periodic meeting, the continuation of the implementation of the national pandemic response plan of COVID-19 in order to preserve the positive results achieved since the beginning of the general lockdown.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Ministry, the recommendations of the meeting of the national scientific committee and the main results achieved during this last period, including the increase in the number of recovered persons of COVID-19, were the focus of this meeting held by videoconference under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Elyès Fakhfakh and with the participation of the governors of the Republic.

On this occasion, Fakhfakh called for greater vigilance, particularly with the gradual resumption of economic activity, stressing the need to ensure compliance with health and preventive measures.

He also called for ensuring all means of protection and disinfection to secure markets and shops, stressing the importance of avoiding congestion and gatherings during the last days of the month of Ramadan.

In this context, he ordered the organisation of joint control patrols in the coming days to enforce the application of preventive health measures in addition to the multiplication of awareness campaigns aimed at law enforcement.

In addition, and on the occasion of the presentation by the Ministers of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research of the preparations for the completion of the school and academic year, the Prime Minister stressed the need to guarantee the best security conditions during the national examinations, calling on the Governors to mobilise all human, logistical and technical means to achieve success in this important phase.

Earlier in the day, the Scientific Committee for the fight against the Coronavirus had called for greater vigilance and adherence to preventive measures in public spaces and businesses in order to keep the epidemiological situation under control (zero more contamination for the past three days).
