(TAP) - New apps. have been developed to check the respect of self-isolation measures by Tunisians who will return from abroad after the reopening of borders on June 27, Director General of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases (ONMNE) Nissaf Ben Alaya said Monday.

Speaking on the sidelines of a coordination meeting with ambassadors from several countries at the ministry’s headquarters, Ben Alaya told TAP teams will be deployed to monitor the compliance with these measures.

She explained that these applications will detect any violation of self-isolation procedures and allow surveillance teams to intervene and strictly enforce the law to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

However, she did not deny the existing risks associated with imported cases in light of the continuous spread of the virus in several regions of the world.

Ben Alaya called for compliance with health measures such as social distancing, wearing protective masks and washing hands.

The Ministry’s strategy remains dynamic and variable in the face of the evolution of the virus on the basis of an assessment of the global and local epidemiological situation, she said, indicating that health measures will be constantly updated to match health developments.
