Individual violence accounted for 53% of cases in August (report)

(TAP)- Individual violence in August stood at 53% while collective violence accounted for 47% of cases, it emerges from the Tunisian Social Observatory's August report on protests.

Men were involved in 86% of cases of violence while women accounted for 8%. The report also revealed that 4% of cases of violence targeted children.

Criminal violence, particularly hold-ups, accounted for nearly a quarter of violence committed, making it the most common violence experienced in August.

Social, relational and deadly violence accounted for 41% of overall cases.

The rate of institutional violence and sexual abuse stood at 22% and 24%, respectively. Violence against women accounted for 4%, while economic violence was at 3%.
