Health situation still dangerous, says Mechichi

(TAP) - "The health situation remains dangerous, since the number of coronavirus infections continues to rise," Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi said on Saturday.

In a statement to the media on the fringes of the Conference of Governors held in El Aouina, Mechichi voiced wish to succeed in stemming the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to the efforts of all stakeholders.

The Premier commended the efforts exerted by the governors, who have a key role in the enforcement of the preventive measures taken to contain the spread of the virus, and in the follow-up and assessment of the epidemiological situation in regions.

In this regard, he indicated that the national COVID-19 response strategy aims to protect the citizens' health through the mobilisation of all therapeutic means, while maintaining business activity and jobs.

Besides, Mechichi pointed out that the Conference of Governors has discussed the issue of lagging development in the interior regions, indicating that a fresh approach of inclusive development will be implemented and will be based on meeting the citizens' expectations.
