COVID-19: medical team dispatched to Kairouan to help break chain of infection

(TAP) - A medical team led by Director General of Health Faisal Ben Salah went Saturday to Kairouan to support the efforts of medics in the local hospital and assist patients with coronavirus.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health released Saturday, the mission of this medical team comes in implementation of the decision of the Minister of Health to dispatch a medical team to help provide scientific and medical solutions to break the chain of infection in the governorate.

An equipped ambulance was also sent, said the same source.

This team has the mission to implement a scientific and medical plan to consolidate the health structures in charge of COVID-19 and mobiliSe the necessary medical equipment and promote the appropriate supervision.

The medical team will also examine the causes of the spread of COVID-19, the same source noted. The team is composed of Dr. Iheb Labben, and member of the scientific committee to combat coronavirus and professor of resuscitation medicine Dr. Jalila Ben Khelil, as well as emergency physicians of the hospital Farhat Hached of Sousse, according to the ministry.
