(TAP) - The Tunisian General Confederation of Labour (French : CGTT) Tuesday called for implementing and institutionalising trade union pluralism and claimed its right to be member of the national council of social dialogue. The trade union said it sent a correspondence to the Prime Minister and the Social Affairs Minister and called for holding a negotiation meeting on the trade union, economic and social situation across the country to present recommendations in this regard. "The law does not provide for exclusive negotiations with the most representative trade union," CGTT said, expressing the hope to see the PM respond positively to the request of holding a negotiation meeting as was the case with other organisations. The CGTT said exclusive negotiation with the most representative organisation is a breach of the Tunisian and international labour code. An Administrative Court ruling (February 2019) upheld the labour union's right to negotiation and subsidies. |
