(TAP) - An e-platform on the concerns of young people will be launched soon, Minister of Youth and Sports Majdoline Cherni announced at the opening of a seminar held Thursday in Tunis, in co-operation with the Ministry of Public Service and Governance and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

This interactive platform will be a way to identify the concerns of young people and forward their voices in various issues, such as training, employment and entertainment, while seeking to find solutions to these concerns and to follow the public services' reactivity”, the minister pointed out.

She added that “this platform is part of the Open Government Partnership that seeks to promote public action's transparency and to give to citizens, thanks to digital development and public data opening, the means to control, supervise and take part in the local and government decisions”.

OECD representative Katharina Zuegel, on her part, stressed that this seminar will provide an opportunity for young people across the country to bring forward proposals and recommendations on the implementation of this interactive e-platform in an effort to uphold the principle of transparency and governance in Tunisia.

“Tunisia is able to take an important step towards development, provided that authorities win back the trust of citizens, particularly young people," she said.
