Tunis hosts Arab Youth Athletics Championships on July 4-7

(TAP) - The stadium of Radés will be the venue of the seventh edition of the Arab Youth Athletics Championships set for July 4-7. Over 400 athletes representing 14 countries (Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, Iraq, Algeria, Oman, Yemen, Morocco, Somalia, Djibouti and Libya) are expected to participate.

The organisation by Tunisia of this event for the third time in a row demonstrates its reputation, Deputy Secretary General of the Arab Athletics Federation Brigaa bin Salah Chamri Tuesday told a press conference in Tunis.

This competition will help young athletes get ready for the upcoming events, especially the 2024 and 2028 Olympics, said President of the Organising Committee and Board Member of the Tunisian Athletics Federation (French: FTA) Sarra Taboubi.

The 7th edition will be exceptional given the record number of participating countries, said FTA Technical Director Hamadi Said. Tunisia will be represented by 66 athletes (33 boys and 33 girls) in different events, he added.
