FIBA African Champions Cup preliminary tournament – day 4: US Monastir beat GS Pétroliers 85-72

(TAP) – Tunisia’s US Monastir defeated Algeria’s GS Pétroliers (85-72), at a FIBA African Champions Cup preliminary tournament Group C day-4 game played on Wednesday in Monastir.

This is the third win of US Monastir who had defeated Libya’s Al Nasr 91-47 and Al Ittihad 94-65. They conceded a defeat to Morocco’s AS Salé (89-93).

In the other match of the day, Morocco’s Moghreb Fès defeated Libya’s Al Nasr (75-58).

The last match of day 4 will pit Morocco’s AS Salé against Libya’s Al Ittihad on Wednesday night.

Top three finishers in the league-based tournament hosted by US Monastir will qualify for the final phase of the FIBA African Champions Cup scheduled from December 11 to 20 in Rades, Tunisia.

Eight clubs have already booked their qualifying ticket, namely Al Ahly (Egypt, holders), ES Rades (Tunisia, hosts), City Oilers (Uganda), Kano Pillars and Gombe Bulls (Nigeria), Recreativo do Libolo and InterClube (Angola) and ASCUT (Madagascar).
