Caid Essebsi flies to Addis Ababa to partake in AU Summit

(TAP) – President Beji Caid Essesbi flew on Saturday to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to partake in the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), February 10-11.

The President of the Republic will have on the occasion a set of talks with heads of State and senior officials, said a Presidency press release on Friday.

The summit that gathers AU heads of State and Government is placed under the theme "Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa."

The African senior officials will examine several reports related notably to peace and security in Africa, the institutional reforms within the AU and the launch of the continental free trade area (CFTA).

Works of the Summit will also include a handover ceremony of the AU presidency to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi, who succeeds Rwanda's Paul Kagame.
