(TAP) - Twelve farm workers were killed and twenty others injured in a road accident in Sidi Bouzid on Saturday.

The accident took place in the Sebbala delegation in a collision between a truck carrying farm workers and a truck carrying poultry.

Regional director for health in Sidi Bouzid Mohamed Zaher told TAP that five men including the driver of the truck transporting poultry and 7 women died in the accident. Eleven died on the spot, and the twelfth, a woman, died suffering from injuries as she reached the Sidi Bouzid Hospital.

20 persons were wounded, most of whom were taken to the Sidi Bouzid hospital and three among them were transferred to hospitals in Sfax.
