(TAP) - Two delegations will be created in Réjich and Bradââ as part of a package of decisions announced Saturday by Premier Youssef Chahed, at an extraordinary meeting of the regional council of the governorate of Mahdia.

The raft of measures, exceeding 50, also provide for regulating the situation of mortmain property, such as the public Wafq endowment of Aziza Othmana, and the creation of a regional unit for recycling waste in Mislane (delegation of Souassi).

A new quay linking the port of Mahdia and Sabkhet Ben Ghiadha will also be built, as part of the public-private partnership, to allow cruise ships to berth.

Chahed said there is need for these measures to fit within a prospective approach that takes into account the region's potential and seeks to narrow inequalities between different regions , particularly in connection to the distribution of industrial firms and breaking the isolation of inland regions.

The Premier likewise laid emphasis on the weakness of development indicators and the lack of health facilities, along with land ownership issues that date back to decades ago and environment challenges that call for urgent action, especially as there is no controlled dumps in the governorate.

The Prime Minister announced the launch of a string projects in connection to sanitation, water, and electricity as he visited Saturday several regions in the governorate of Mahdia.
