(TAP) – Vice-President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (French: ISIE) Farouk Bouasker put forward three possible dates for the second round of the presidential vote: September 29, October 6 or October 13. A timetable for the second round is tightly linked with legal challenges, Bouasker told media Monday as Kais Saied and Nabil Karoui advanced to the next round after Sunday's vote. In the event of an appeal, the electoral body will opt for October 13. A date will be set once challenges, if any, are received and after consideration of their legal process. The preliminary results of the first round will be announced in the next few hours and will be made available on ISIE website and displayed in different ISIE offices. ISIE starts receiving possible legal challenges as of Monday. |
