COVID-19: One more infection reported on May 21 (Health Ministry)

(TAP) - The Health Ministry announced in a press release issued early on Friday that 18 people have tested positive for COVID-19, including one new imported case reported in Tunis governorate among persons who had been repartriated and placed in mandatory quarantine, and 17 previous cases who had tested postive again, out of 1,585 conducted screening tests (45 as part of the follow-up measure of previous cases).

As such, the tally now stands at 1,046 confirmed infection cases out of 45,308 screening tests conducted since the start of the pandemic last March.

The number of recoveries rose to 883, number of still active cases stands at 116 who are under medical care, including only 3 currently hospitalised and number of deaths caused by COVID-19 stands at 47.
