(TAP)- The first negotiation meeting between the Prime Ministry and the Executive Board of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) was held Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi, in the presence of UGTT Secretary-General Nouredine Tabboubi.

Mechichi stressed at the opening of the meeting the strong relations between the government and the labour organisation.

He also highlighted the need for a partnership relationship, because of the role of the Union likely to create a peaceful climate, said a statement from the Prime Ministry.

He recalled, in this vein, the role of the UGTT as a partner in the various projects launched by the government.

For his part, Tabboubi said the labour oraganisation represents a force of proposal for the government and always stretches out its hand to help, especially in this delicate economic situation in the country.
