(TAP)- The Economic and Financial Judicial Division issued on Thursday a committal order against Qalb Tounes party President Nabil Karoui, announced Spokesman for the Tunis Court of First Instance Mohsen Dali.

Karoui was summoned Thursday by the investigating judge of the division to be heard in the case of suspicion of tax evasion and money laundering.

On October 9, 2019, the Court of Cassation ordered the release of Nabil Karoui, who had been in detention since August 23 of the same year.

The organisation "I Watch" had filed a complaint on September 2, 2016 with the Economic and Financial Judicial Division against the two Karoui brothers for suspicion of money laundering through the companies they own in Morocco, Algeria and Luxembourg.
