(TAP) - The Tunis International Book Fair (French: FILT) will not take place in 2022 and will return to its usual spring date in April next year.

The postponement of the Fair a year later had been confirmed by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Thursday evening.

It explained it by a "a return to its usual date of normal in the spring, after the last edition (36th) took place exceptionally in November.

Contacted by TAP Friday, Youssef Lachkham, director of the national facility for the promotion of festival and cultural and artistic events (ENPFMCA) said for the sake of geographical proximity, the next edition of the Fair will relocate to the heart of Tunis.

His institution intends to organise the Fair in a space more suitable for the movement of participants and visitors among book lovers.

The usual venue of FILT is the Exhibition Park in Kram, located at the northern suburbs of Tunis.

"The return of the fair to its normal date requires a period of assessment and close coordination between the various cultural actors in connection with the book sector and publishing," said the official.

A new vision in terms of logistics and organisation will be adopted in anticipation of the holding of the 37th edition, said Lachkham.
