(TAP) - President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE), Farouk Bouasker, announced on Tuesday evening that the new draft constitution, submitted to referendum, won a "YES" vote of 94.6 %, against 5.4 % of "NO".

Speaking at a press conference, Bouaskar explained that 2 million 607 thousand 884 voters voted in favour of the new Constitution text, against 148 thousand 723 voters who voted against.

The total number of voters registered on the electoral roll reached 9,278,541.

He also said that the number of invalid ballots amounted to 56,479, while the number of blank ballots counted is estimated at 17,008.
