33rd Arab Summit: Tunisia expresses reservations over resolutions on Palestinian cause

Tunis, May 16 (TAP) - Tunisia has officially expressed its reservations regarding the use of the terms “June 4, 1967 borders", "two-state solution" and "East al-Quds" in the resolutions resulting from the work of the 33rd Arab Summit held on Thursday in Manama, Bahrain.

These reservations are based on Tunisia's firm position on the just Palestinian cause, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad.

In a speech to the 33rd Arab Summit, President Kais Saied reiterated Tunisia's firm and principled position in favour of an immediate halt to the barbaric aggressions perpetrated against the Palestinians and the urgent delivery of the necessary humanitarian aid.

Tunisia also called for the unjust blockade imposed on Palestine to be lifted and for the leaders of the Zionist entity to be brought to justice for the crimes they have committed against humanity,' according to the text of the speech read out by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar.

In the same context, Tunisia reaffirmed its constant support for the Palestinian people and its legitimate and inalienable rights, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign state on all its territory.

Tunisia has spared no effort to support the Palestinian people in their struggle to regain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state.

At the end of the summit, resolutions were issued on the Palestinian cause, the situation in several Arab countries and ways of strengthening joint Arab action, according to a Foreign Ministry press release.

The Bahrain Declaration stressed the importance of combining efforts to address the security and development challenges facing the Arab world and of strengthening joint cooperation to contribute to international development efforts.

President Kais Saied entrusted Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, with leading the Tunisian delegation to the 33rd session of the Arab League Summit in Manama.
