Tunisian play “Toxic paradise” wins Grand Prize at 15th Arab Theatre Festival

Tunis, Jan. 15 (TAP) - Tunisian play Toxic Paradise "Al-Bukhara" was crowned with the award of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for the best theatrical performance, at the 15th Arab Theatre Festival, organised by the Arab Theatre Authority from January 9 to 15, 2025 in Muscat (Sultanate of Oman).

Toxic paradise" is the third Tunisian play to win this prestigious Arab prize in the history of this festival, after "Mémoire en retraite", directed by Meriam Bousselmi and produced by the Tunisian National Theatre, which won this prize at the first edition in Jordan in 2011, and "Richard III", directed by Jaâfar Guesmi, which also won this prize in Sharjah in 2014.

Winner of the Golden Tanit at the 25th edition of the Carthage Theatre Days (November 23-30, 2024), Toxic Paradise, starring Ramzi Azaiez, Mariem Ben Hassan, Baligh Maki, Ali Ben Said and Bilel Slatnia, tackles the problem of environmental pollution in Gabes.
