U.S. ambassador pays farewell visit to Caid Essebsi

(TAP) – U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia Daniel Rubinstein, on Friday, paid a farewell visit to President Beji Caid Essebsi, at the end of his mission.

Rubinstein highlighted the historic relations binding the two countries and the United States of America’s commitment to continue supporting Tunisia’s cutting-edge democratic experience and to stay by its side to overcome economic and security challenges.

The Ambassador further commended Tunisia’s major role in maintaining stability in the region, a Presidency statement reads.

For his part, Caid Essebsi stressed the importance granted by Tunisia to developing strategic partnership with the U.S.A, hailing the “distinguished and firm” political and economic support to Tunisia.

The President also voiced wish for the co-operation to develop in all fields to serve the development and stability in Tunisia and the region in general.

Rubenstein was decorated on this occasion by the President with the Insignias of Grand Officer of the Order of the Republic in recognition to efforts deployed by the Ambassador during his mission to Tunisia, notably by stepping up friendship and co-operation relations between both countries.
