(TAP) – The Ministry of Health has begun implementing the plan to combat the current cold snap in several northern and central-western regions, according to a statement issued on Friday.

In this context, the care of patients with kidney failure has been strengthened, the Ministry says, adding that they have been placed in health facilities to receive the necessary care if the roads are ever cut off due to snow.

According to the same source, ambulances were made available to hospitals in the north and west central areas, adding that the stock of medicines and oxygen had been increased in these facilities.

The ministry also called on all citizens to take all measures to prevent CO2 poisoning accidents, by ensuring that traditional heating systems are properly monitored.
