Tunisia: Germany's top strategic partner in Africa (German MP)

(TAP) – Germany considers Tunisia as its “main strategic partner in Africa,” said German MP Peter Stein.

Received on Monday by Minister of Industry and SMEs Slim Feriani, Stein, who was accompanied by a delegation of the German government, pointed out his country’s willingness to continue supporting the Tunisian economy in various fields.

The meeting turned on means likely to boost the bilateral partnership in some promising sectors, such as the manufacturing industries and renewable energies and contribute to the development of the industrial and technological infrastructure, notably in the interior regions, according to an Industry Ministry press release.

For his part, Feriani pointed out the need to invest in the renewable energy so as to achieve sustainable development and step up trade exchanges between both countries, especially as the business climate has become more conducive with the improvement of the security and social situation.

Some 200 German enterprises are set up in Tunisia, generating over 60 thousand jobs, the ministry added.
