(TAP) - The House of People's Representatives (HPR) passed Tuesday at a plenary, the draft organic law N° 78/2018 approving the two protocols amending the Convention on International Civil Aviation with 127 votes for and 4 abstentions.

The first protocol changes the composition of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council from 36 to 40 members.

The second protocol consists in the amendment of the membership of the ICAO Air Navigation Commission, increasing it from 19 to 21.

Since Tunisia is a member of this organisation and is party to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, initialled on December 7, 1944, in Chicago, by virtue of Act No. 122 of September 28, 1959, the HPR examined this draft law in response to the call made by the General Assembly of the Convention on International Civil Aviation member States for the adoption of the amendments in question as soon as possible.
