(TAP) - Following the travel restriction for Tunisian women issued Friday by Emirates Airline, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transport intervened with the General Civil Aviation Authority in the United Arab Emirates to lift this restriction in a definitive way. The Ministry of Transport considered this restriction to be "illegal" and "contradictory to the regulations in force in international civil aviation", calling on the Emirates Company to abide by international laws in the field of air transport. The ministry highlighted in a statement issued Friday afternoon the importance of Tunisian-Emirati co-operation in the transport sector, saying it will monitor this case to ensure the company's respect for this lifting of the restriction. Emirates Airline, on Friday, banned Tunisian female passengers from traveling to Dubai via company lines (EK 748), with the exception of women residing in the United Arab Emirates. |
